Work is now underway with a revised scheme for Crossfield Exclusive Developments in the heart of the city’s Baltic Triangle. It comprises 129 apartments with associated communal space and courtyard.
It also features nine office units totalling 1,174 sqm on the ground and first floors to accommodate businesses in the digital and creative sectors, complemented by storage space for up to 100 bicycles.
The design took its inception from the visual legacy left by the Baltic Quarter from the 18th and early 19th Century and offers a contemporary interpretation, from the vertical extrusions of surrounding warehouse structures, vertical loading bays and irregular rooflines, to the old red brick and steel of their materials, steeped in maritime and industrial history. Positioned between Norfolk and Brick Street, the island formed by the streets around Baltic View is maintained in both form and programme. Modular fenestration is used with the strong vertical elements of brick and curtain wall reflecting the environment, broken with horizontal bands of steel section.
Developers and Brock Carmichael engaged with the stakeholders and community right from the start. Baltic View will be “a positive, enduring addition to the area” and is expected to be complete in 2020.
The scheme won Residential Property Deal of the Year in the 2019 Liverpool City Region Property Awards for Crossfield Exclusive Developments.
