Cruise Terminal Hotel, Liverpool Waterfront

Brock Carmichael has designed the proposed 200-bed, 10 storey, four star hotel adjacent to Liverpool’s planned Cruise Liner Terminal (CLT), part of the city’s waterfront regeneration.

Work on the waterfront hotel in Princes Dock, within the £5bn Liverpool Waters scheme is scheduled to start in 2019, with completion during 2021. The hotel will operate in conjunction with the CLT on cruise days and work independently on other days. Its facilities include a grand lobby, bar at ground level, panoramic views, conference facilities, car and coach parking and pick up/drop off. The hotel is designed to provide grand views across the City, Princes Dock, the Pier Head, River Mersey and beyond.

The design is being carefully critiqued, and all materials are specified to fit in with the challenging environmental conditions of the waterfront. The scheme has been subjected to a full Environmental Impact Assessment, including a wind analysis and assessment by the Conservation Management Board and Places Matter.

The main contractor is Wates Construction, building on behalf of Liverpool City Council. The design team in addition to Brock Carmichael includes Ramboll UK (M&E), Curtins (Civil & Structural) and Project Four (H&S).
